Communication is the Key for any business

Why? For starters, communication from you to your affiliates is a big part of how you duplicate yourself. In case you're not clear about this term yet, here's what we mean by duplication:

It doesn?t matter how intelligent, rich, energetic, or dynamic you are?we are all limited to the same 24 hours a day. By sponsoring other affiliates, however, you can overcome this limitation. By sponsoring, you can essentially clone yourself and have dozens, hundreds, even thousands of people all working indirectly on your behalf on their time?and receive a percentage of everything they earn!

Sponsoring affiliates also builds security for your business. Why? In most traditional businesses, what happens if you become ill or disabled and are unable to service your customers? Or perhaps you just want to take a vacation. Whatever the case, you could lose most, if not all, of your income overnight because it relies on your being there. That?s not owning your own life, and that?s certainly not financial freedom!

Through the process of sponsoring affiliates, however, you can create total financial freedom for yourself. When you've sponsored your own team of independent business people, you no longer have all your eggs in one basket. On the contrary, because each person on your team has a vested interest in continuing and building his or her own businesses, you create an income that is not dependent upon you?an income that can continue, even grow, indefinitely, with or WITHOUT you!

So what's all this have to do with COMMUNICATION?

It's simple. It's through communication that you can teach your affiliates how to succeed in SFI (i.e. duplication). And it's through communication that you'll build relationships with your affiliates?which is very, very important.

Think about it. Do YOU want to make money for someone who offers no support or assistance? Of course not. It's the same thing with the affiliates you sponsor. If they feel you do not care about them, they will not want to build their businesses because they will not want to see their hard work benefiting some stranger they never hear from.

Now, you may be new to business. You may feel you have nothing to offer in the way of training. That's OK, you can learn and grow into the leader role over time. And, after all, all the training your affiliates need is at the SFI Affiliate Center.

But what you must never do is allow your affiliates to think their sponsor (you) is uncaring. If you do that, if you do not communicate with your affiliates, success will be a hundred times harder to attain.

OK, so HOW do you communicate with your affiliates? How do you make sure they know you are out there and available to assist them?

Very easily.

First of all, you need to set up a Greeting for your affiliates HERE:

Once you've set this up, all of your new affiliates, upon logging in at the SFI Affiliate Center for the first time, will see an alert that you've left them a message. By clicking on this alert, they'll then be able to read your message. This is an easy, automatic way to get off to a great start in building relationships with your affiliates.

Email communicationNext, you'll want to develop some form of regular outgoing communications. We recommend a weekly or bi-weekly e-mail. For much more on this, refer to this special column by SFI founder, Gery Carson.

And we've made doing group mailings very easy. Provided you accumulate a minimum of 1,500 VersaPoints monthly, you can send e-mails to your entire group with just a couple clicks...and completely free of cost. You don't have to maintain any mailing lists or worry about bad e-mail addresses or anything. You just select the group from your Genealogy you want your message to go to, enter your message, and click on "send." It's that easy.

You can also go to the PSA Mailer Web page or your CSA Mailer Web Page, enter your message and hit submit to send a message to all of your PSAs (personally sponsored affiliates) or CSAs (co-sponsored affiliates). Plus, provided you haven't already earned it for the week, you'll also earn 30 VersaPoints! There's no need to go to the Genealogy or select a segment of your group. And there's no need to worry about messages going to bad e-mail addresses or opted-out affiliates as these are automatically filtered out for you. Messages are sent to both the PSA's/CSA's registered e-mail addresses AND to the PSA's/CSA's "Team Mail" inboxes at the SFI Affiliate Center. There's also no rank or points requirements to use the PSA Mailer or CSA Mailer.

Now, the above are all PROACTIVE communications. But you also need to make sure you're being responsive when your affiliates contact you. Various e-mails that we send to your affiliates, as well as several places at the SFI Affiliate Center, all refer your affiliates to you, their sponsor. When they contact you, be sure you respond in a timely manner.

Tip: You may get asked questions you don't know the answer to. Don't sweat it. Just be honest. Tell them you don't know the answer. but you will try to help them find it; then do it. Whatever you do, don't just tell them to go to the Affiliate Center and find it themselves. That's a guaranteed way to destroy the relationship.

One last tip: Most SFI Sponsors and Team Leaders LOVE to hear from their affiliates. It lets them know who's active. Don't wait until you have a question...send them a message today and introduce yourself. Let them know what your goals are for your business. You might be pleasantly surprised by what comes back!

The amount of CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACID (CLA) in the American diet has been lowered due to changes in the way we eat and in how farmers are raising their cattle. This can be seen as a contradiction: we are consuming less CLA, but we are also seeing a large increase in obesity.

Over the last 30 years, people worldwide have made a fundamental change in the foods they eat. In an effort to guard against the negative effects of heavy fat intake, people now eat significantly less beef and dairy fats than they did just a few years ago. Despite all of this, people are steadily gaining weight. In the United States alone, the number of Americans who are at least 20 pounds overweight has grown from 25% in 1985 to more than 34% today.



People only get CLA from the foods they eat. CLA is found in a variety of foods in very small amounts; beef and dairy fats contain the largest quantities. When cattle eat grass, which is rich in linoleic acid, their digestive tract converts the linoleic acid into conjugated linoleic acid, a different molecule.

We get 80% less CLA in our diets today for two reasons. Today, cows are seldom pasture grazed. Instead, they are fed foods (grains and soy) which result in decreased CLA production. Secondly, we also eat less red meat and dairy fats, which also reduces the amount of CLA in our diets.

How CLA Works:

CLA "inhibits" the body's ability to store fat. A recent scientific study shows CLA's ability to inhibit lipoprotein lipase, an enzyme which breaks down fat globules in the blood so that fat cells can more readily absorb it and store it as body fat. The inhibition of lipoprotein lipase results in reduced fat deposition.

CLA "prompts" the body to use stored fats as energy. India needs to build 500 new cities urgently to provide better quality life to its migrating people, global management guru Prof C K Prahalad said.

"India needs to build a minimum of 500 new cities urgently. However, it has to be done from scratch to accommodate people who are on the move and to provide them better quality life," he said.

"Otherwise every existing city will become a slum when India becomes 75 in 2022," he said speaking at the first annual United World Colleges lecture series -'The United Wheels of Change' on Thursday night.

It is the human conditions I worry about, not the slums, said Prahlad, named world's most influential business thinker by The Times.

According to author of The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid, India must actively take part in shaping the emerging world order and not be just a passive recipient.

"For this, India needs three pillars -- economic strength, technological vitality (not just innovation and science but contribution to fundamentally new ideas), and third and the most vital, having moral leadership to take part actively in shaping the emerging world order," Prahalad said.

Speaking on 'India at 75', Prahalad, Professor at the University of Michigan Business School in the United States said, by representing one sixth of world population, India can definitely shape world order 'but not without moral leadership'.

Prahlad said the need was to leverage India's strength -- its huge population base.

"We can create 200 million graduates and 500 million trained professionals in every field of human endeavour," he said.

According to him, Indians working in any field needed to be trained to match global standards, be equipped with professional conduct and ethics, and compensated properly, so as to compete with anyone in the world.

"Very few countries in the world can aspire to be so. And if India succeeds, it can become the intellectual and knowledge hub of the world, and it will change the quality of life of every Indian," he said.

India at 75, according to Prahalad, will have 30 of its business companies listed in the 'Fortune' 100 firms of the world, and it can create 10 percent of world trade. Further, India will become a source of global innovations -- new businesses, new technologies and new business models.

The Bottom of the Pyramid, according to Prahalad, was a huge source of innovation, and not just a market or micro producer.

"I believe we have the opportunity to become the first country to provide world class education, healthcare, good energy and transportation, and do it in a sustainable way. There can be a great flowering of intellectual energy, art and literature," he said.

Prof Prahalad explained that the greatest strength that India has is its secularism -- the multiple rituals, languages, and customs -- the diversity held together with a common idea.

India can leverage diversity and become the benchmark country in the world, as 90 percent of the conflicts of the worlds are due to inability to cope with diversity, he said.

He strongly advocated that Indians need not focus on best practices.

But look for new innovations and think differently and fundamentally change the way we think," he said.

In 2022, abject poverty will not be the issue of concern in India, lifestyle inequality, urbanisation and the emergence of universal aspirations, a dramatic change in price-performance relationships, and ecological crisis will be bigger monsters.

"Incrementalism will not get us there and to become a leader in the world we must begin by creating a shared commitment to aspirations supported by creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship."

On entrepreneurship, he said, "You need to have an aspiration which is larger than your resource base. The problem is not resource but imagination, inventiveness, and shared aspirations."

Talking about corruption, he said, "Corrupt nations do not develop human capital and corrupt countries are not rich -- corruption is a way of managing shortages not about human character."
